24/7 AFK

Minecraft AFK 24/7: understand the trade-offs first

A long-running AFK session needs a compatible setup, a permitted server, and a clear understanding of runtime and cost.

Your main options

You can keep your own computer running, operate a VDS, or use a managed worker. Each option changes who handles electricity, operating-system maintenance, updates, and the restart when a process stops at an inconvenient time.

Do not confuse uptime with permission

A setup can stay connected technically while still breaking a server rule. Always review the server policy before starting an automated or unattended session, and stop if 24/7 connections are not allowed.

Plan for interruptions

Long sessions meet power cuts, network drops, server restarts, and version updates. A realistic 24/7 plan includes how the session recovers from each of these, not just how it starts on a good day.

Test before committing

Run a diagnostic and try the free plan or a short session first. Review the connection state separately from a request that is still waiting for a worker, so a queue delay is not mistaken for a live bot.
